LADIES SOCIAL MORNINGS

Over the next few weeks I propose to hold various get-togethers to encourage as many ladies as possible to come and enjoy time together.

This will start with some indoor chipping and putting organised by Neil in the dining room on Tuesday 9th January at 10am - 11am.

Hope to see you then.

The following week, on Monday 15th January we will meet at 10 o'clock in the dining room to make our own ball markers.   All items will be provided but if you have any old nail varnish bring it along.

Other social get-togethers may include the following:-

2)  Walks around the golf course

3)  Cookery demonstration - in the dining room

4)  Make up demonstration - in the dining room

I would welcome any other suggestions/offers.  Please send to janlang799@gmail.com

TROPHY NAME

This is a photograph of the Trophy which is competed for on Rosemount at the start of the season when the Lady Captain's Team plays the Vice Captain's Team.  Unfortunately it does not have a name.

I would welcome any suggestions for the naming of this trophy and the committee will make a decision by the end of January.   Please send your suggestions to janlang799@gmail.com

Thank you

FROM THE LADY CAPTAIN

CAPTAIN JANICE & THE LADIES COMMITTEE
WISH EVERYONE
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thursday 14 December 2017

THURSDAY 14th DECEMBER 2017

This was today's play!  Heavy snow has fallen over very icy conditions making play impossible and the car park at the club like a skating rink but the sun is out and everything is looking very Christmassy.

Put the fire on and heat up the mince pies!

Hope to see everyone next Thursday.

LADIES CHRISTMAS LUNCH 2017

Although it was a very cold day outside there was a lovely warm atmosphere inside when 60 ladies enjoyed their Christmas lunch.

Chef Colin, provided an excellent carvery in the dining room which was seasonally decorated by Jackie Hovde.

A cryptic Golf Quiz and a 'Heads & Tails' time by Mary Miller added to the fun of the day.

My chosen charity this year is the SCAA and Mike Beale gratefully accepted the donations which amounted to just over £200.  Thanks to all.

The day was brought to a fitting end by Andy, Jim, Martha & Mary who led us all in Christmas songs.

My thanks to you all for making this a most enjoyable Christmas lunch.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR ATTENTION

Following the ballot which took place in November when 262 voting slips were sent out either by post or email (if a lady was out of the country), 158 replied of which 74 favoured a Friday,65 a Thursday and 19 had No Preference.

Therefore as from January 2018 the Ladies competition day will be a Friday with tee times set out as below.

There will be tee times between 8am and 9am for ladies who wish to play early, there will then be times from 9am to 10.33am as well as 12.39pm to 12.57pm and 5.36pm to 17.54pm.   These are adequate times for all ladies to play, we realise these may not suit everyone but we must consider the welfare of the club as well as lady members.

I also plan to have a ‘starred’ medal once a month with the Silver Division going out first followed by the Bronze Division.  This will allow everyone to play with similar handicap players.  The other competitions will be mixed draws and allow the opportunity for ladies to play with other members.

The 3rd Motion from the Annual Meeting (not allowing ladies to play on the alternate day and count towards the trophies) has also been discussed at length by the Ladies Committee and the Main Committee.  It has been decided to over rule this vote in the bid to encourage participation and equality for all lady members.  This means that we will have an Alternate Day on a Sunday prior to the Friday.  There will be two tee off times allocated for both morning and afternoon play and players will be eligible to compete for silverware - in line with 2017.

I hope now to move forward with your help to try to make this an enjoyable club of which to be a member and encourage new players to join.
With thanks,
