WEE COURSE LADIES' COFFEE MORNING

I was delighted today to join 21 Wee Course ladies for a cup of coffee and a piece of shortbread together with seven members from the Ladies Committee.  After I had welcomed everyone and introduced the committee members I handed over to Shirley, who reminded the ladies of the format for weekly turn up and play competitions, monthly medals and playing for a handicap.  The Opening Session for the Wee Course Ladies is Thursday 30th March at 9.30 a.m. and Shirley would be happy to see anyone who can manage to play a few holes on the Wee Course and have a coffee afterwards.

Everyone present had a very enjoyable morning.

FROM THE MATCH SECRETARY

As our Lady Captain stated at the "Get together" on Monday evening, the new season is just around the corner.  In this respect, I would like to remind members of a few matters.

1. The age for entry to the Senior Invitation Day, on the 9th May has been reduced to 55 years and is no longer 60 years as is printed in the fixture list.  We are looking forward to a good turnout for this event.

2. There has been a very good entry for the Ladies v. Senior Gents match on Tuesday 11th April and as previously stated on the signing up sheet, a draw will be made to select the 24 lady players for the match.  This draw will be made on Sunday 2nd April after the Captain v. Vice Captain match.

3. Payment of Competition Levy. The levy is £5.00 and £2.00 for Wee Course members. Members are reminded that if you have not paid your Levy before the club competitions commence, you can still play in any competition, but unfortunately you will not be able to win the respective medal or trophy.

I wish you all a good season and hope you achieve your own goals, whether they be to meet new friends, reduce your handicap or as in my own case attempt to retain it.  Enjoy the golf and good luck.

MEMBERS' EVENING 20/03/2017

Lady Captain Meriel Walker  was delighted to welcome a packed  house to the  Members Evening last night.  With the start of the season just two weeks away,  we enjoyed a Fashion Show displaying some of the  new  ladies golf apparel now available in the Pro Shop. Our very own Charlies Dernie compered the  Show with his usual charm and wit, while the models on the  dining-room catwalk showed off the clothes with flair and flounce.
Charles has a terrific range of ladies' golf gear for 2017 and is offering a special 20% discount  on the new range until Sunday.
And don't forget  the gents...Neil Cameron showed off some of the hottest fashions for men, mixed with a  display of how not to hit a golf club
(see pic!)
The Lady Captain thanked her Committee for all the behind-the-scenes work organising the evening, Jayne and Paul for a very tasty supper, and  our models - Angie,  Alex, Jane, Jackie, Pauline.
